The cruise port of Palma
Where your ship docks, how to get to town, and what to expect at the pier.
Almost every cruise ship visiting Mallorca docks at the Estació Marítima on the Dic de l’Oest, the long breakwater that closes the bay of Palma to the south-west. Big ships use berths on the Poniente quays and the newer platform (Alineación Norte); smaller and expedition ships often tie up closer to town at the Moll Vell or Paraires. Our calendar shows the berth for every confirmed call.
Getting into town
The terminal is about 4 km from the cathedral. Most lines run a shuttle bus to the Passeig Marítim or Plaça de la Reina (typically €10–15 return). The city bus 1 also stops outside the terminals every 15–20 minutes and costs €2. A taxi to the centre is €12–18; the rank is directly at the terminal exit.
If your ship is at the Moll Vell, you can simply walk — the cathedral is 15 minutes along the waterfront.
Where we meet
Our guide waits outside the terminal exit, before the shuttle buses and taxi rank, holding a red compass sign with your name. If you cannot find us within five minutes, call +34 628 421 943 — on tour days we are reachable from 06:00.
Minibuses are parked in the port car park a two-minute walk away; we are through the gate and on the motorway in less than ten minutes.
Getting back
We plan every return so that you are at the pier at least 60 minutes before your ship’s all-aboard time, usually earlier. Traffic in Palma is predictable and our drivers know the port procedures; in 14 years nobody has missed a ship with us.
Good to know
Free Wi-Fi in the terminal building. Currency is the euro; cards are accepted almost everywhere, but small villages and markets prefer cash. Sundays and holidays most shops in Palma are closed, but restaurants, cafés and our tours run as normal. Summer sun is strong — bring a hat and water, we carry spare bottles in the bus.
