Grand Island Tour: Tramuntana, Lluc & Inca
For long port days: the mountain villages of Sóller and Fornalutx, the high road past the blue reservoirs, the monastery of Lluc, and a taste of the island’s leather and wine tradition on the way back.

This is the tour for ships that stay until evening. We head north to Sóller, then up to Fornalutx, a village of stone stairways and painted roof tiles that has been voted the prettiest in Spain more than once. Photographers, take your time.
From there the road climbs into the Serra de Tramuntana proper: hairpins, pine forests, and the two reservoirs of Cúber and Gorg Blau — “blue gorge” in Catalan — lying under Puig Major, the island’s highest peak. We stop at the Sanctuary of Lluc, founded in the 13th century and still run by monks, for a walk through its cloister and, if we are lucky, the boys’ choir at midday.
Lunch is in a village restaurant on the plain — Mallorcan cooking, no buffet. On the way back we pass through Inca, the island’s leather capital, with a short stop at a family workshop, and reach the port with time to spare.
